Board Layout & Card Positioning

Cards are played in one of two rows.

  • Temptations on the top row.

  • Promises on the bottom row.

  • Each promise and temptation card shares a unique color.

  • Each promise card on your board protects all other present scripture cards. (See battles for more details)

Rolling Dice & Taking Turns

  • When rolling: Remember the 3-to-1 rule before passing the dice.

  • The majority roll (good or bad) goes first.

  • Bad action order is always arrows, snakes, and skulls.

  • Good actions can be played in any order.

Battles

Order of operations:

  • Color: Do I have the opposite resistance promise to the attracting temptation?

  • Points: Is the attacking card Temptation stronger than my weakest promise?

  • Openings: Temptations will prioritize openings in your armor if they are weaker than your promises.

Player Advanced Actions

Player Advanced Actions

Player Advanced Actions

Each advanced action costs one basic action.

Boost: Recite the Bible verse from one of your cards already on the battlefield to double its points.

  • Merge: Combine two matching cards on your battlefield and add up their points; they now count as one card.

  • Gift: Giving a card from your hand to another player lets you add one card to your battlefield.

Game Advanced Actions

Depending on the number of skulls:

  1. Turn the top card over from the temptation deck onto the community sin stack.

  2. The top card on the community sin stack attacks the player who rolled.

  3. Starting from the player who rolled, deal out all the cards in the community sin stack.

Remember: Only the person who rolls will do actions 2 and 3; all other players who choose a skull can only do the first action.

Game Ending & Scoring

Once you find your hourglass card.

  • Finish playing out all remaining dice actions.

  • Add up the combined points between the game and players; the higher score is the winner. The game wins ties by default.

  • Don't forget your bonus objective if completed.

Remember

  • The base game ends when you find one of the six hourglass cards.

  • You may choose to extend the game upto cards, but we wouldn't recommend going beyond that.

  • Consider increasing the game difficulty with each card found. See the veterans rules page for more details about hourglass cards.
