When God Turns “Losses” Into Launchpads: August Ministry Update

ree

One important lesson I have learned over the past month is that God can take what the business world calls a failure and turn it into a platform for His glory.

Attending the General Conference 2025 session in St. Louis this past July was my first experience at such an event. With big hopes for sales to help make up for a slow Q1 and even slower Q2, Eden’s Conflict set out to offer our products to a global audience. And needless to say, our 10 days at this event did not disappoint, so how did we do sales-wise? Oh, that was a complete and total failure; we barely cleared a 10th of our expected sales for an audience of this size. But in terms of connections and inspiration? It was the most fruitful and spiritually reviving event I’ve experienced in the past two years. God used this week we were there to remind me that no matter how short my plans for the future may fall, He is looking to a vision far greater than I had ever imagined.

“There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord ’s counsel—that will stand." --Proverbs 19:21 NKJV

DIVINE APPOINTMENTS!

That Tuesday, after another disappointing day of sales, I woke with the urge to pray and see God's wisdom on what to do next, and after a good hour of deep surrender and waiting. The answer that came was one I didn't expect.

"Close your booth and go talk to people."

Mind you, at this point in the event I was the only person managing the booth that day, and the thought that came to mind was,

"Lord, if I close the booth, we will make no sale at all."

Nevertheless, when I surrendered to the thought and finally decided in my heart to follow through with the advice, a peace overtook my soul that I hadn't realized was missing to begin with. My fellow kingdom builders, always remember there is no such thing as failure in our efforts to elevate the name and glory of Christ; when met with difficulty and challenge, there is only a different path to victory. If I were to list all the wonderful ministries and people I spoke to on that day, this would be a book rather than a blog post. By the end of the week I had given my testimony more times than I can count and met several leaders in prominent ministries I admired and even got the chance to discuss potential cross promotions with much larger and more prominent movers and shakers in the faith. And none of this would have happened if I had stayed at my little 10x10 booth trying to pitch our game to anyone who walked by. And while I won't name names since many of the details are still in the air, some of teams I talked to might rhyme with "Blazing Acts," "Subtle Bright Audios," and "Terrific Bless Submarine." 😉 Regardless of how things turn out in the future, the mere fact that I met and drew inspiration from these fellow believers testifies to the workings of God.

Two encounters stood out:

A quick shout-out that I do want to give is to two fellow creatives who also have their noses to the grind in sharing the gospel in new ways:

  • Sean—a one-time drug abuser, now sober and turned entrepreneur has designed and built the OT tabernacle out of LEGOs and is now seeking to share his creation with others. I recommend you check out his site and show your support for our fellow kingdom builder! {BibleBricks.com}

  • Wane—a pastor who longed to use his talent and skills in art to share the book of Daniel in a first-person comic book style. {DanielDreamGazer.com}

If you happen to say hi, let them know we sent you! It's stories like these that remind me that God is finishing the work in countless creative ways.

ECHOES OF THE AGES —A MUSICAL MILESTONE

Our latest album, Echoes of the Ages, debuted at GC and has already crossed 1,000 streams in just one month. This project is special: 16 Psalms set entirely to music, creating a space for worship from the first note.

Lately, I’ve been starting my mornings with Hear My Cry—a track that embodies the heart’s need of full surrender to God. It's now become a key part of my personal devotional routine.

As Child Guidance says:

“Rightly employed, [music] is a precious gift of God, designed to uplift the thoughts to high and noble themes, to inspire and elevate the soul.” — Child Guidance, p. 523.1

EXPANDING EDEN’S CONFLICT VISION

In the next few weeks, the Eden’s Conflict website will be getting a fresh update:

  • Step-by-step gameplay videos

  • Beginner, intermediate, advanced and teachers pages

  • With the Advanced & Experimental Rules page (live now!)

From many of our conversations at GC, it’s clear there’s interest in a digital version of the game you could play on your phone. While we don’t want to simply remake the card game, we’re exploring new and unique ways to use today’s technology to enhance our mission —sharing the Gospel and the power of choice through interactive gameplay.

AI SUMMIT: FAITH + TECHNOLOGY

ree

And speaking of modern tech, from today, Aug 11–16, there is a Christian-based AI Summit gathering to explore the question of how AI technology can be used to help our kingdom-building efforts. I personally will be presenting Monday, Aug 11 at 1 PM PST on AI and practical faith-related applications.

As someone who uses AI daily for writing content, making music, and brainstorming ideas, I can tell you this is a conversation the Church cannot afford to ignore.

Special Giveaway: Attendees of today's session will receive a PDF with my 5 most practical prompts for getting started with AI. Along with the secret music-related code phrase, so sign up and attend if you want to be able to claim your prize.

CLOSING WORD

From a conference booth to a worship song, from AI tools to the heart of the Gospel — God is moving. My prayer is that you’ll see where He’s moving in your life, too, and step boldly into that calling.

Would you share this update with a ministry leader, youth director, or friend who needs encouragement? Let’s keep building together.
